When the default VLC download for my Mac at videolan.org became Intel 64-bit only, I noticed that VLC would no longer play the video for my AAVC MP4 files.After some poking around, I finally found a current Intel 32-bit/Intel 64-bit VLC fat binary on the Mac OS X download page, installed that, and the AAVC MP4 files now play correctly when I start the 32-bit VLC (e.g., by navigating to the VLC app, doing 'Get Info' (Apple-I) and checking 'Open in 32-bit mode').

Video Codecs For Mac
Is there a list of VLC-distributed codecs that only work when VLC is started in Intel 32-bit mode? Looking back at an earlier topic on this forum, perhaps the codec for MPEG2 files is one of them. [A reference to the file types affected by this limit would also be helpful.]
